The PEEF AJK Scholarship Program

The Govt. of the Punjab has provided a grant of Rs. 750 million for the establishment of AJK Educational Endowment Fund (KEEF). The purpose of the establishment of KEEF is to provide financial assistance / scholarships to needy and talented students of AJK to pursue higher level education. The proposed AJK Endowment Fund till, the establishment of the an Endowment Fund, will be managed and operated by the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF).

Geographical Coverage

The PEEF AJK scholarship program program is being implemented within the geographical boundaries of AJK, comprising of ten (10) districts. However, with the increase in endowment fund and subsequent increase in income proceeds; the AJK domicile students residing outside AJK may also be included in the PEEF AJK scholarship program ambit.
The scholarship program is implemented in following districts of AJK:

  • Muzaffarabad
  • Neelum
  • Hattain Bala
  • Bagh
  • Haveli
  • Poonch
  • Sudhnoti
  • Kotli
  • Mirpur
  • Bhimber
  • Under the PEEF AJK Scholarship Program, it is estimated that every year 1,000 needy and talented students of AJK will get scholarships to pursue Intermediate, Graduation and Master's level education. The level wise allocation of scholarships is as follows:

    Level of Education % Scholarship Allocation
    Intermediate 40%
    Graduation 40%
    Master's 20%

    Minimum Eligibility Criteria

    1) Intermediate & Graduation Level Scholarships

    A student must have:

  • AJK domicile
  • Passed Matriculation or Intermediate Examination, in annual, conducted by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mirpur, AJK
  • Secured at least 60% marks in the above mentioned examination
  • Secured admission in a regular educational institution as a full time student in the in same academic year as of passing the Matriculation or Intermediate Examination
  • Declared monthly income of parents (from all sources) is equal to or less than Rs.23,000/-
  • For Special Quota Scholarships, the student must fall in at least one of the following S.Q categories:

                    i. Orphan Children
                    ii. Children of government servants in BPS 1 4 (both serving and retired)
                    iii. Children belonging to minority religion
                    iv. Special Children
                    v. The Children civilians martyred in terrorist's attacks

  • Not availing any other educational scholarship during the current academic year
  • Note:
  • The children of government servants in BPS 1 - 4 and the Children civilians martyred in terrorist's attacks are exempted from income limit criteria if salary is the only source of income.
  • Marks improvers or students who have passed examination in supplementary session or students who have passed the aforementioned examination with grace marks (*) are not eligible for PEEF-AJK Scholarships
  • 2) Master's Level Scholarships

    The Master's level scholarships is awarded through the public sector universities of AJK. The prospective students fulfilling the below mentioned minimum eligibility criteria may contact the financial aid office of the respective university to apply for PEEF-AJK scholarship.
    The students must have:

  • AJK domicile.
  • Secured at least 60% marks or a minimum CGPA 2.5 in BA/ B.Sc./ B.COM/ BS/ BBA etc. examination held in during the last three years (2017 / 2018 / or 2019 (annual) in AJK
    a) Students enrolled in spring/fall session (where applicable) and morning/ afternoon / evening sessions (where applicable) are also eligible to apply for PEEF-AJK Master's level scholarships
  • Declared monthly income of parents (from all sources) is equal to or less than Rs. 37,000/-
    a) The Children of government employees in BPS 1 4 and Children of civilians martyred in terrorist attacks are exempted from income limit criteria if salary is the only source of income.
  • Not availing any other educational scholarship during the current academic year.
  • Besides fulfilling PEEF-AJK eligibility criteria, the prospective student must qualify the merit and need criteria of the respective University
  • Note: Following students are not eligible for PEEF-AJK Masters level Scholarship:
  • Students who have already passed / possessed M.A / M.Sc / M.S / M.PHIL etc. degree
  • Marks improvers or students who have passed examination in supplementary session
  • Students who have passed the aforementioned examination with grace marks (*)
